EMERGENCY SERVICES AUXILIARY (JOHNSON CITY): 830-868-2833. This special group of volunteers works every week of the year to collect, sort, price and sell donated goods, with the returns handed over to the Fire and EMS departments. They provide a much valued service to convert donated goods into the cash needed to help run the services. Located in the same building as EMS. For coordination on drop-off of donated goods, contact Irma or Gus Sanchez at 830-868-2833 or Tom Mills at 868-4857. The on-duty EMS crew may be on a call or otherwise not at the station at the time of your delivery, so you should plan on using your own power to unload your goods and stack them at the south end of the building, outside. JOHNSON CITY FOOD PANTRY: This organization is a Christian Mission, under the Johnson City Ministerial Alliance. They provide food to the needy in the greater Johnson City area. Food is purchased from the Capital Area Food Bank. Food distribution is at the back area behind the County Annex Building in Johnson City, and is given away on the first Wednesday (after the first Tuesday) of the month from 9a until noon, or until it is gone. Donations are welcomed and needed. Donations can be made by check to the Alliance, with the Food Panty designated as the recipient. Volunteer Managers: Betty & Jerry Charniak, 830-868-4349.
