The Hill Country has a wonderful variety of golf courses, from mega-resort complexes to rural, 9 hole courses with no web site or email.
Public, private and semi-private courses are all noted.
Here they are, plus a few neighboring courses and driving ranges/practice courses. Sorry, miniature golf and disc/frisbee golf are not included.
Note: Public means open to public access. Private means members only access. Semi-private means a membership course that also allows the public to play. Municipal means city or other government owned, but may be operated by a contractor. Resort means open to play for paying guests staying at the resort, which typically includes other upscale amenities (tennis, swimming, boating, dining, etc.)

USGA Course Rating is the evaluation of the playing difficulty of a course for scratch golfers under normal course and weather conditions. It is expressed as strokes, and is based on yardage and other obstacles to the extent that they affect the scoring ability of a scratch golfer.
Slope Rating evaluates the relative playing difficulty of a course for players who are not scratch golfers. The lowest Slope Rating is 55 and the highest is 155. A golf course of standard playing difficulty has a Slope Rating of 113.
Yardage is as reported from the longest tee.
